Before Mass

Five minutes now, so there's something to talk about on the ride home.

About

Three years teaching seventh and eighth grade at a parish on Long Island, plus Confirmation readiness interviews and a stack of Mass reflection sheets written by thirteen year olds. That is the whole résumé.

What those sheets showed me: children almost never bring home the idea. They bring home the specific thing. A picture, a line, a story the priest told. So that is what these notes look for.

Nothing here is endorsed by any parish or diocese. It is one layman's take, offered freely, and worth exactly what you paid for it.

Always read the actual readings. Every entry links to them at the USCCB.
